• Chinese lacquer in blue and gold
• Stick or skewer for stirring
• A4-sized white cardboard (thick enough to absorb lacquer without warping)
• Gloves (optional, to keep hands clean)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Water: Fill a large container or basin with water. Ensure that the water is deep enough for the cardboard to be submerged vertically.

2. Add Lacquer Colors: Drip the blue and gold lacquer into the water in alternating turns. This will allow the colors to spread on the surface and create a base pattern.

3. Create Patterns: Use a stick or skewer to gently stir the water surface, mixing the lacquer colors. Experiment with swirling, zigzagging, or circular motions to form unique patterns on the water. Be careful not to overmix, as this may blend the colors too much.

4. Transfer the Pattern: Hold the A4-sized white cardboard vertically and carefully insert it into the water. Submerge the cardboard, allowing it to make contact with the lacquer pattern floating on the water's surface. Slowly lift the cardboard out of the water, making sure the pattern adheres to it.

5. Dry and Finish: Let the cardboard dry completely in a safe, dust-free area. Once dry, the lacquer painting on the cardboard will have set, capturing the unique water pattern.
